Campaigns: Israel and Palestine
Devised, implemented, and delivered a high-impact campaign based on Amnesty International’s report “Destination Occupation”, targeting online platforms TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb operating in Israeli settlements in the West Bank. The campaign aimed to halt corporate operations in occupied areas while mobilising global support for human rights.
The campaign achieved over 343,000 signatures for a petition to TripAdvisor featured on amnesty.org. Booking.com acknowledged the report and initiated an internal review. This led to a reconsideration of operations in occupied areas and updates to location descriptions, changing ‘Israel’ to ‘Israeli settlement, Palestinian Territory. Over 1,000 activists posed questions on TripAdvisor’s platform, prompting improvements in how the company handled supporter inquiries and the removal of functionality for Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The campaign strengthened corporate accountability while raising global awareness of human rights abuses in the West Bank.
